When completing your mentor application, please indicate which location you'd prefer to volunteer at and with which age group - K-2, 3-5, 6-8 or 9-12. Please note that programs vary based on school quarters. We look forward to working with you!

We love working with service groups! In addition to any service ideas your group might have, we have consistent needs for groups to assist us with:

  • Supply Drives
  • Career Mentors
  • Family Fun Nights
  • Beautification/Done-in-a-day Projects
  • Monthly Volunteer Opportunities
  • Administrative Support

Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington-Normal Volunteer Training


We will be offering volunteer orientation at both 1615 Illinois St. and BJHS from 5:15-6PM the third Tuesday of the month through April 2018.


What should I bring to the training?

  • Your calendar if you wish to sign up for volunteer times
  • Completed application available below
  • Volunteer Background Check Waiver Form available below
  • ISU Authorized Background Check or $15 to Process your background check (for this we will need your SS#, Driver's License or State ID #)
  • Complete this Mandated Reporter Training, and print your certificate


  • If you have completed a background check through ISU, please request a copy here. Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington-Normal staff will make a copy and return all documents to you.
  • If you have not completed an ISU background check, please bring $15 as listed above.


State Farm Employees:
Through the Good Neighbor Grant Program, the State Farm Companies Foundation awards a $500 grant on behalf of each eligible State Farm associate (active employee, agent, or retiree) who volunteers a minimum of 40 hours per calendar year for an eligible nonprofit organization (like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington-Normal).
