All high school age members of Boys & Girls Clubs have the opportunity to participate in the Youth of the Year competition. This program recognizes a youth who has made exceptional strides academically, personally and within their community. In addition to winning a computer and scholarship money, the Youth of the Year meets state legislative leaders and competes for more scholarship funds at regional and national competitions.
Jamie Valdez has been announced as the 2011 Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal. Jamie is a freshman at Normal Community High School and has been a member of the Club for 1.5 years.
