
Programs in this Core Program Area enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.
Power Hour is a time where members can come and do their homework and receive help from staff and volunteers. This program is held Monday through Friday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Midgets and Cadets meet for Power Hour in the Learning Center. Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors meet in the Technology Center.
With the support of Microsoft, Boys & Girls Clubs of America has developed a comprehensive, technology-focused program for implementation within its more than 3,000 Clubs worldwide. Some examples of programs include WebTech, PhotoTech, DesignTech, SkillTech, MusicTech, and MovieTech.
Youth for Unity provides youth ages 6-12, teens and parents with a foundation of activities that will help them better understand diversity and combat prejudice, bigotry and discrimination.
Junior Staff Career Development is a comprehensive small-group program designed to guide youth toward careers in youth development or human services by nurturing their leadership skills and providing guided, practical experiences.
This program is a collaborative project that promotes literacy with our members and supports a cross generational activity and allows the members to read a book, discuss its topic, share their ideas, and imagine adventures beyond their reach. This program allows the members to increase their personal library as they get to keep each of the books upon completion. Book Club members participate in a number of field trips, special projects, and interact with guest speakers to further expand their intellectual horizons.
